Morning Musume - Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo!

This is the newly released PV for Morning Musume’s 47th single. It’s a double A-side, so there will be another PV for the other song, Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai. From what we’ve seen from the previews, the videos are linked with a bed scene. They’re both very cute and I love the songs too. These will be the last PVs and singles for Takahashi Ai, and possibly the last before the 10th Generation join. I friggin love this video and this song. The video is so damn sparkly! Every scene is glittering, and there are a lot of nice scenes and camera angles that I feel really put this PV at a higher level than some of the more recently released ones. Everyone is quite breathtaking, and you can feel the energy.

The video starts out with all 9 girls in a line sleeping in beds. Starting with Sayumi, they each get a shot while in bed, and Ai, Mizuki, Kanon, Riho and Erina are shown waking up in very cute manners. The girls each walk up to a mystery door that seems to just be standing in the middle of whatever room their in. Ai walks through first, and we see her transport into a spacey type of place, warmly being referred to as Rainbow Road haha, and wearing a super cute gold costume, very much like the Onna ni Sachi Are costumes. Each costume is different though, a nice touch for each girl.

The PV has 5 main components, the bed scene(which we talked about above), the main story shots, dance shot, group shot, and the tight shot lip scenes.

The main ‘story’ shots are the girls walking through the door and discovering the space that they’ve been brought to. These scenes are very cute. I think this is the first time that Erina really stood out for me. She looked very innocent in these scenes. Kanon also had a cute part, she’s walking forward and the mystery door shuts behind her and surprises her. Mizuki looked very elegant in her scene as well. Gaki of course looked fuckin amazing. Mitsui’s small scene where she peeks through the door and looks very surprised is also super cute. I’m not used to saying Aika is cute, because her no upper lip freaks me out, but you couldn’t tell in that scene. Ai’s story shots took a step further where she found a low hanging star that she jumped and grabbed out of this space. She held it and it glowed quite bright, and at the end she releases it.

The dance for this is pretty awesome. It’s not overly complicated, but not so simple that it’s boring. My favorite part of the dance is at 1:48, where they do this kickass head bob thing, when everyone is doing it there is a nice effect. What’s new for Morning Musume is one of their members is not present in the dance scene. Mitsui has been suffering some injuries to her left leg and was not able to dance.

Mitsui is present though in the group shot. It’s obvious shes sitting down, but that’s okay, because everyone is so energetic that you don’t care. Mitsui is very animated, so she’s making up for not dancing lol. The group shot is a little off balance with Ai freaking out in the back, but it’s not too bad lol.

The tight close up shots are very nice too! They switch from a space rainbow road look to a simple glittery silver background. The shot looks nice in contrast to the girls gold costumes. Gaki and Sayumi look really good in this shot, and so does Kanon! Mitsui too. The only one who looks sort of weird is Mizuki, she doesn’t seem to be having fun.

Ai looks quite lovely in a more mature way in this PV. Since these are her last 2 PV’s, I’m glad they gave her a lot of screen time and some awesome solos in this song. Though, Ai usually has solos and tons of screen time. Not that this is the worst thing ever hehe. I think for one of her last PVs she did a really good job. It’s going to be weird when she graduates.

Gaki is of course the absolute winner of the universe. And this PV proves it. She has a fantastic voice, amazing beauty, and a presence that is hard to ignore. Her solo shots and her parts in the dance scenes were really amazing. And who else is happy that she had shit loads of singing parts in this song?

Sayumi has become less cute and more of a beauty lately. And it’s nice to see them pushing her to the front. I like Sayumi. She’s funny, pretty, and now she’s not the worst singer(erina lol)!

Reina. Is..well, Reina. Not anything terribly bad, and nothing that I haven’t seen before. Not to say that she doesn’t sing, dance and act well, Reina is Tsunku’s ideal Musume, it’d be nice if we saw a different side to her. I liked her ribbon though.

Aika doesn’t have a huge presence in this video, but that’s majorly due to the fact that she’s not in any walking scenes, nor in the dance scene(due to her bum leg). The scenes that she is though are quite nice, giving off a vibe that I don’t usually get from Mitsui.

Mizuki looks elegant and pretty in this PV. She is very cute, and she sings pretty well. I wish that UFA would push her to the front as well, especially considering all the Egg work she did. Bitch paid her dues!

Erina has become popular, huh? With the KY character they’ve been giving her, as well as her job as an Oha Girl, she’s becoming quite the idol. She’s better in this PV than the previous ones she’s been in so far, and I’m sure she’ll keep getting better where we might even see her as a lead in a single(though I’m sure not anytime soon).

Riho is now a front girl, having MORE solo lines than Gaki. That little bitch. But she is a great dancer, she has presence and a good fanbase. And she can sing. So I’m sure she’ll be taking over Ai’s position when she graduates. Is it me, or does it look like sometimes she has a mustache?

Kanon is so full of energy, that I get excited when her parts happen on PVs. She’s not the best singer, or dancer, but I think that’s why she reminds me a lot of Ogawa Makoto. I can’t wait until we get to see her as more of a center role in Morning Musume.

With the 10th generation joining soon, I wonder how the dynamic will change within Morning Musume. I’ve been reading that Tsunku has said the new girls who might be joining are at a high level. Will the 9th generation be pushed back? or will some of the older girls take the backseat to a fresh new Musume?

Berryz Koubou - ‘Shining Power’

wait..wait..a video primarily with Kumai Yurina?? NO WAY. She has, I believe, more solo lines in this song than ANYONE else, including the power triangle of Risako-Miyabi-Momoko.

What I’m wondering is that since Yurina was given so much face time and singing time in this song, how long before they announce her graduation? This is not typical with H!P releases, giving someone who usually plays a background the foreground, or even the spotlight. Or maybe they’re starting to see what star power Yurina offers? I hope they don’t sotsugyou her. I’d be sad. :(

There are a few themes I noticed in this video. First off, the major focus on Yurina as noted above. In the dance shots, she is the center the entire time. Even when someone else is singing! IE at about 2:48, Risako has a solo line, and she walks in front of Yurina, only to switch the view and she’s singing and her and Yurina are both in the middle.

The candid part of the video was a pingpong tournament, very reminiscent of Masaa’s episode of Yorosen! where she taught and held a pingpong tournament. All of their paddles are color coded to their merchandise colors, which brings me to my next point.

They used the merchandise colors to theme each girl. I LOVE WHEN THEY DO THAT OMG. Their solo shots show this, as well as at the beginning when Yurina finds all of them hiding lol(ie Chinami’s orange backdrop, Saki’s yellow backdrop etc). I like how H!P uses colors to code each girl. It helps me associate each girl differently in the group, instead of always thinking of them just as a unit.

All in all, all the girls are beautifully presented in this PV, and I like the simplicity of the video. It lets me concentrate on the beauties.

The only things I didn’t like were Chinami’s haircut(gobacktolonghairplz), the garter belt that Miyabi is wearing on her head, and Yurina’s long pants/skirt combo thing.

Meet Muten Musume!

This new unit, who is totally not Morning Musume haha, will be part of a new promotional campain for Kura Corpo, a sushi restaurant that features a conveyor belt. They are going to release a single titled ‘Appare Kaiten Zushi!’ Each member of the group will be featured as a chibi animated character tied to their favorite type of sushi, ingredient, or standalone food you can eat.

The single will be released on October 27th. This will not be considered Momusu’s next single.
